Reader Sends The Dumbest Bearcats Email Into Doc

Cincinnati– I doubt if I would be attending any UC basketball games at any venue.  The comfort of my chair in the den is better than one in any arena.  You could have mentioned the price gouging for parking downtown and that nobody is likely to get hit by a street car in Highland Heights.

Having remembered how UC was stuck with Alabama A&M for its inaugural game opponent at renovated Nippert, I think UC should be working on its home opener foe for the 2018-19 season.  Top suggestions, in order:

    l. West Virginia…..because Bob Huggins is the coach.

   2.  Minnesota…..because that was the inaugural opponent for Shoemaker Center.

   3.  Xavier…..because UC is gonna play at home that season anyway, so why not in the opener?

   4.  Northern Kentucky……the gratuity for even considering renting their place to UC for the 2017-18 season.

   5.  Miami (Ohio)……nearby familiar opponent that hasn’t played UC for awhile but seems to be willing to play anyone anywhere.

I don’t think Mike Bohn’s wildest dreams would include Ohio State, Kentucky or Louisville consenting to play here.

AJ from wherever in Cincinnati wrote into Doc at The Enquirer with this just outrageous old man email. It’s not super outrageous but it shows how out of touch and delusional people can be. This guy represents the worst kind of fan, the guy who complains about attendance and says “my tv is better than any arena.” Yeah so is mine AJ, 4k (not to brag) looks amazing, being at the game is better though.

“Price gouging of downtown parking” What are you even talking about you den bound blundering idiot? Where is the price gouging happening at? Lots by the arena during baseball season are between $5-15, not exactly price gouging. The closer you park the more it cost, supply and demand AJ take a class for me once. We park at the garage right next to USBA during baseball season, pretty sure it is $12. Not bad. In clifton parking is between $5-15, again it all depends on where you want to park. He wouldn’t know that though, he’s watching from his den.

“Nobody is likely to get his by the streetcar in Highland Heights.” You’re not wrong AJ, there is no streetcar in Highland heights. Just like there is no streetcar in Clifton and no streetcar in front of USBA. Who is getting hit by the streetcar? You literally step out of the way, it’s not a bullet train you just move.

We need to break down his inaugural game at new Fifth Third Arena list too;

l. West Virginia…..because Bob Huggins is the coach.

ENOUGH WITH BOB HUGGINS! Holy shit that era is done, it’s dead. Let it go, he isn’t coming to Cincinnati to play a basketball game. Some factions of the Bearcats fan base have an unhealthy obsession with Huggins. He’s not coming, shut up.

   2.  Minnesota…..because that was the inaugural opponent for Shoemaker Center.

Such a random choice I can’t even complain about it.

   3.  Xavier…..because UC is gonna play at home that season anyway, so why not in the opener?

Not happening UC schedules the game in January or February every time they host it. Mainly because it’s good for the schedule boost and the team is more gelled by then.

   4.  Northern Kentucky……the gratuity for even considering renting their place to UC for the 2017-18 season.

Likely not happening, we owe NKU nothing since the deal is with the company that owns the arena.

   5.  Miami (Ohio)……nearby familiar opponent that hasn’t played UC for awhile but seems to be willing to play anyone anywhere.

They’re willing to play anyone that can remind people Miami plays basketball.

AJ has terrible choices in opponents. Yeah he’s right OSU, Lousiville and Kentucky aren’t coming to Clifton for a litany of reasons which all include possibly losing. Maybe just have a low key opening for the fans to appreciate the new arena.

If you’re going to write into the newspaper though, don’t sound like a complete idiot.
